Innovation and sustainability
The quality of the formulas has always been one of our strengths: our laboratory technicians only work with the very best raw materials and the purest of ingredients to obtain ultra-effective formulas, which are SLES-free and not tested on animals.
In 2021, we introduced new biotechnological active ingredients: a unique innovative solution that allows us to work with even purer principles and which use less water and fewer resources in their production process, rendering them more sustainable.
To do our part in reducing our environmental impact, we have chosen to install solar panels that help provide the energy needed for our production plants, whilst, for the majority of our products, we use recycled and recyclable packaging.

Ocean Bound Plastic
We are proud to be among the cosmetic companies that have chosen the revolutionary UPM Raflatac labels and their OceanAction Label adhesive material. Why? Because we are determined to embark on a sustainable path, minimizing our impact on our beloved planet.
These extraordinary labels are made from plastic waste and debris collected within 50 km of coastlines, which would otherwise have a high likelihood of ending up in the ocean. Elgon's OceanAction labels, provided by UPM Raflatac, are a groundbreaking innovation that made history by winning the prestigious Sustainability Award at the 2023 Label Industry Global Awards.

Reduction of Our Carbon Footprint
A core principle guiding our packaging selection is the commitment to reducing CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions. Elgon is determined to be at the forefront of the fight against climate change. While we are not yet able to completely eliminate the emissions from our packaging, we are committed every day to managing and reducing those that persist with responsibility and determination. Our path towards sustainability is made possible by a cutting-edge production facility. In 2021, we began installing a photovoltaic system capable of meeting the entire production energy needs, drastically reducing CO2 emissions.

At Elgon, creating beauty products is not only our job, but it is also our way of responding to the wonders of creation and celebrating the intimate beauty of nature, whilst respecting the freedom and equality of the individual.
A number of projects have enabled us to express all of this, including our collaboration with COOPI: starting with "D for development, The future of Sierra Leone is female", an initiative aimed at 2,500 women and their communities, in addition to activities focused on food security, in particular the strengthening of the cashew supply chain.

Being able to guarantee a 100% Made-in-Italy product is not enough for us: we have also chosen to work with a short supply chain, directly from us the producer, to you the consumer. We personally take care of the journey embarked upon by each of our products, from the idea to the formulation, production, packaging and finally shipping. Producing in Italy and avoiding intermediaries allows us to provide the best quality and the widest choice of products so as to allow everyone to express their uniqueness.
