THE TEAM ELGON RUN DEEJAY TEN FOR COOPI
Elgon, da sempre impegnata in progetti di responsabilità sociale di impresa, quest’anno sceglie di sostenere le donne della Sierra Leone correndo la Deejay Ten di Milano e raccogliendo fondi a favore di COOPI.This year Elgon Cosmetic has decided to engage in a new and challenging way in fundraising for COOPI, the NGO with which it collaborates on a project that aims to help women in Sierra Leone to emancipate.
In what way? Running the DEEJAY TEN on October 8! A 5 or 10 Km race for the center of Milan that counts thousands of participants.
The target? Raise 5000 euros for a project that targets women living in rural areas, with little opportunity for economic development and mostly employed in agriculture and small businesses. Helping them means helping the development of the local population. The nutritional status of children is in part determined precisely by the education of women and their social recognition.
COOPI, with the help of Elgon, will accompany the people involved in the project in a path that will lead them to sell independently and export what they grow.
It is a project that looks far ahead and wants to provide lasting employment for women.
Since early September, Elgon employees have been training together once a week to run the DEEJAY TEN. From time to time they will share the photos and their results on the website of Rete del Dono, a crowdfunding platform for the collection of donations online for social utility projects designed and managed by non-profit organizations.
On the Gift Network it will be possible to follow us but above all to actively participate in the donations in favor of the project "A heart for Sierra Leone".
